Doug Hucke grew up in Aurora, Colorado. He was involved in sports in high school and graduated from Aurora Central in 1980. He also became very involved with Young Life during his high school years. He attended Colorado State University and graduated with a degree in business. In 1984 Doug began working for Martin Marietta Aerospace in Denver, but left Martin Marietta in 1987. He enrolled in Denver Seminary and went on staff with Young Life. He later transferred to Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California where he earned his Masters of Divinity (M.Div. 1993). Doug also holds a Masters of Theology Degree (Th.M. 1998) from Union Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and a Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min. 2008) from Fuller Seminary. In 1993 he was called to Colinton Parish Church in Edinburgh, Scotland where he worked as an Assistant Minister for three years. In 1996 he became the pastor of Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church just outside of Philadelphia. On October 1st 2003 he accepted a call from Northminster Presbyterian. Doug and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Ian and Rebecca.

Mike came to Northminster in September of 2000 to serve as the Associate Pastor for Community Building and Small Group Development. He received his Bachelor’s in Classical Languages from Borromeo College of Ohio and his Master’s of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1991. After ordination, Mike served as a solo pastor for nine years at churches in Indiana and Ohio. Mike’s interests include genealogy, reading (especially history, theology, and politics), and teaching (especially the Old Testament). Mike’s wife, Marje is a native of Peoria and is a certified elementary school teacher. She enjoys quilting and sewing. Mike and Marje have two children; Ilene and Paul.

Joel came to Peoria in April of 2009 to serve as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults. He grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he first felt God calling him to do youth ministry. Following that call led him to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. During his senior year of college Joel worked part time as a middle school youth director at a local church. After receiving a BA in History and Youth Ministry he moved back to west Michigan in order to pursue an M. Div. at Western Theological Seminary in Holland. Meanwhile, he also worked full time as middle school youth director in Zeeland. It was during this time that Joel and Amanda fell in love and were married on May 6, 2006. Amanda currently is working on her masters degree to become a family nurse practitioner at UIC in Peoria. They also have one son, Samuel.

Roane Deckert served at Pastor of Northminster Church from September 1, 1974 to September 1, 2001. After retiring from the ministry he began a new career in art, specializing in sculpture. He and his wife, Ardelle, live in Downs, IL, just outside Bloomington with their Golden retriever, "Lady". Their daughter, Brenda, and her family live only two blocks away. Their son, Brad, and his wife, Jane, live in Eureka. Their oldest son, Steve, lives in Peoria with his wife, Devon and her children. Roane and Ardelle welcome company.
