Serving the Children of Northminster from Birth through 5th Grade

Northminster's Xtreme Faith Adventure Sunday School

Northminster's Sunday School program is a bit different than a typical Sunday School.  We offer a self-contained classroom for our youngest "lambs" that are three years old through their fourth year and a rotational style Sunday School to our children in kindergarten through fifth grade.  The older children remain in  study of a topic or story in units of 4 to 6 weeks. Each of those weeks they attend one of 6 different workshops including art, science, video, games, drama, and cooking.  Each week they will study the same story, but in a different medium.  We believe that they learn well this way due to the different presentation modes and repetition.

Be sure to take notice of our  bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.  It provides an easy way to locate your child when Sunday School is over at 10:45 each Sunday.  We do ask that a parent or responsible older sibling checks out each child at the end of Sunday School at their classroom.

NPC Kids on a Mission

During our Sunday School year we will be collecting donations to sponsor our Compassion International child, Luis.  Luis lives in Nicaragua and is now 13 years old.  He has two other children in his family.  He lives in the plains of Cuidad Sandino, which is home to about 12,00 residents.  Typical houses there are constructed of dirt floors, wood walls and corrugated iron roofs.  Our sponsorship allows Luis to attend Bible classes, have medical exams, health education, recreational activities, tutoring, and nutritious meals.  The center he attends also supplies parenting information and Bible teaching to his mother as well.  Our support is important to Luis and his family.

A portion of our mission offerings was sent to the Friends of the Children of Haiti to purchase medicine and supplies for their current trip to Haiti.

NPC Kids Club

Our NPC Kids Club meets on Wedneday evenings from 6:30- 7:30.  We focus on learning God's Word in fun and interesting ways and on mission within our community.  We serve at the Midwest Food Bank and the Salvation Army.   Plan on enrolling your child for  fellowship, fun, and learning about the best friend your child could ever have, Jesus Christ!

NCChoir

Our children's choir is called NCChoir and it is open to children in the third through sixth grades, while Joyful Noise is available for children in Kindergarten through second grade. The aim is to provide the children with knowledge of music, fellowship with their NPC Kids friends, and an opportunity to perform. The children perform on a regular basis in our worship service and present a musical annually. The Music link provides more information for those who are interested,

Angels Arms

Northminster is proud to offer a ministry that is geared to serving the need of individuals with special needs  and their families.  The goal of this ministry is to meet the needs of the individual and the family within our church family.   Please see the Angels Arms link for more information.

Current Memory Challenge:

This month the children will be working towards memorization of the books of the New Testament.

Children at Northminster are a priority and our programming reflects that. We offer many opportunities to our children and their families to grow in faith, actions, and outreach.

"Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs."
