Northminster Youth

The youth here at Northminster Presbyterian Church are a vital part of the community. We encourage the youth in all they do and bring to this faith community. It is our goal to encourage, equip, and nurture youth as they grow in their faith. We have a Senior High youth program called "Omega" (grades 9-12) and a Jr. High program called "Alpha" (grades 7-8) and our pre-teen program called "The Edge" (grades 5-6). We offer a variety of opportunities for youth to be active and involved.

Summer Mission Trips

This summer the Alphas will be going to Cincinnati, OH June 20-25, 2010. While in Cincinnati students may spend all week at one ministry site or switch between sites during the week. We will be partnering with local organizations and programs that seek to address the very basic needs of residents. Students may serve at places like:· Children’s Programs· Elderly Centers· Soup Kitchens· Thrift Stores

For the first time in history we are offering a mission trip for our brand new "The Edge" Youth Group! From July 5-7, 2010 our 5th and 6th graders will have the opportunity to serve right here in Peoria! They will spend each night at the church then serve our community all day long. The cost of this trip is $60. To sign-up fill out one of the yellow registration sheets located on the Youth Bulletin Board. If you have any questions please contact Karen DeHeer.

The Omegas will be going to Chicago, IL from July 11-16, 2010. Their mission is to transform the Roseland neighborhood through: Buying and then selling foreclosed homes to low-income families · Community center · Women’s shelter · Thrift store

Fellowship

We know the importance of fellowship for youth and include it in our ministry fellowship opportunities through out the month varying from movie nights, to bonfires and retreats. These fellowship opportunities are above and beyond our youth group time so not only are the youth learning and maturing their faith, they are also working on friendships and relationships within the faith community.
