Northminster Youth
The youth here at Northminster Presbyterian Church are a vital part of the community. We encourage the youth in all they do and bring to this faith community. It is our goal to encourage, equip, and nurture youth as they grow in their faith. We have a Senior High youth program called "Omega" (grades 9-12) and a Jr. High program called "Alpha" (grades 7-8) and our pre-teen program called "The Edge" (grades 5-6). We offer a variety of opportunities for youth to be active and involved.
"The Edge," "Alpha" and "Omega" Youth Groups
"The Edge" Youth Group is for 5th & 6th Graders, it meets on Wednesday nights from 5:45-7:30PM.
The "Alpha" Youth Group is for 7th & 8th Graders, it meets on Wednesday nights from 5:15-7:30PM.
And the "Omega" Youth Group is for 9th-12th graders, it meets on Sunday nights from 5:00-7:30PM.
Our youth groups provide an opportunity for students to grow in the relationship with Christ and with one another through experiential lessons, games and small groups. For more information about any of these programs click on the "The Edge," "Alphas" or "Omegas" link.Or check out our "Youth News" page!
Youth Group Meal Sign-Ups 2012
Every Sunday night our high school students get a chance to slow down from the busyness of life and sit down to eat dinner together. In order to make this happen we ask parents to prepare the dinner meal with our Food Services Manager Wanda Davis. Some parents cook lasagna, or baked spaghetti, while others pick up some pizzas at Little Ceaser's or gondolas from Avantis. Interested in bringing a meal to youth group? Simply visit the "Take Them A Meal" website and sign up!
Worship
We encourage youth to take an active part in worship and to participate in worship on a regular basis. We have three worship services Blended at 8:15, Traditional at 9:45 and a Contemporary service at 11:00. Every 2nd Sunday of the month we have a youth worship service at 6:30PM in the Trinity Room, led by our youth praise band "Driven." All 5th graders through 12th graders are invited to worship with us at the 2nd Sunday Worship!
Sunday School
We offer a variety of Sunday school opportunities for grades 6 through 12. The Sunday school classes meet from 9:45-10:45 Sunday mornings, during our 2nd worship service.
High School Sunday School
Currently there are two Sunday School classes which meet for 9th through 12th graders. One of them meets in the Omega youth room off of the Fellowship Hall and covers more topical issues for High School students. Whereas the other class meets in the room next to the Alpha Room and does in-depth studies on different books of the Bible. Currently they are studying the book of Genesis.
Confirmation Class (8th Grade)
Confirmation is a 6 month class offered from September through March as a way to prepare 8th graders students for membership into the church. It is kicked off every September the week after Labor Day. Then throughout the school year we meet together every Sunday morning in the Confirmation Room off of the Fellowship Hall for class.
Middle School Sunday School
Our 6th & 7th graders meet in the Alpha youth room off of the Fellowship Hall every Sunday morning. They cover a range of topics including the Trinity, Church History, and learn basic Bible study skills so that they can be equipped to read the Bible themselves!

Fellowship
We know the importance of fellowship for youth and include it in our ministry fellowship opportunities through out the month varying from movie nights, to bonfires and retreats. These fellowship opportunities are above and beyond our youth group time so not only are the youth learning and maturing their faith, they are also working on friendships and relationships within the faith community.
