Northminster is proud to serve as the charter organization for Troop 88 (boys) and Troop 888 (girls). Both troops are highly active, meeting at Northminster on Monday evenings throughout the school year. They typically go on monthly campouts and attend a week-long summer camp. In addition to working with other local troops, they take part in leadership development experiences and enjoy high-adventure trips across the country.
Troops 88 and 888 had a busy summer. At their Fall 2025 court of honor, they celebrated 21 rank advancements, including 5 Eagle scouts, and 101 merit badges. In June, 33 scouts and 9 adults went to Ingersoll Scout Reservation for a week of summer camp as well as 1 scout as a Counselor in Training for more than one week. At the end of June, 9 scouts and 7 adults spent a week at W.D. Boyce Council's Cache Lake property in Canada. At the end of July, 14 scouts and 7 adults spent about ten days at Northern Tier high adventure, canoeing the Boundary Waters. The three crews paddled 55 miles, 68 miles, and 88 miles, respectively. They look forward to an active and exciting year of weekly meetings and monthly campouts.
