Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois, is a covenant community of believers faithfully following Jesus into the fullness of His blessing. We are a church large enough to embrace bold new ideas, yet intimate enough to personally connect with and care for every person who walks through our doors. Our weekly worship service gathers over 120 members and visitors with an opportunity to attend adult and youth classes that offer a variety of subjects.
We are biblically rooted, reformed in theology, and egalitarian in both leadership and ministry equipping. With open hearts and a spirit of expectancy, we are eager to go wherever God leads, ready to discover what the Holy Spirit is calling us to do for the sake of His Kingdom.
The second word in our name, Presbyterian, means we’re part of a historical movement that centers on Jesus, relies on grace, enjoys fellowship with God, and embraces His mission in the world.
We value learning and living by God’s teaching in the Bible and have intentionally partnered with other Presbyterians in a movement known as the Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians (ECO).
Together, we aim to accomplish a shared vision where each congregation embraces its unique identity and calling. We seek to cultivate a culture where risk-taking for the sake of the gospel is normalized, mission-minded living is nurtured, and disciple-making is expected. Our congregations are committed to developing multiplying leaders and preparing to launch new ministries and expressions of the church, all for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
“Evangelical” … to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ and plant a new missional community.

“Order” … to commit to a shared way of life as we unite around a shared theological core.
“Presbyterians” … to stand within our Reformed heritage and celebrate the life of the mind.
