NPC MISSION
We've been given a mission.
Northminster's Mission Team is here to help all of us find our place in God’s mission in this world. They're excited to serve and would love to have you help them. The Mission Team has five basic divisions, each creating opportunities for the rest of us to learn and serve and grow.
We're on a mission in Peoria.
God loves our city and so do we. Though there are many amazing mission and nonprofit organizations in our community, we've chosen to partner with the Dream Center Peoria. Our Dream Center Team finds all the ways we can participate in the work and ministry of our inner-city partner. We have so much to learn, and we're trusting that God will use the friendships we're making across racial and socio-economic lines to build in us a heart just like His.
We're on a mission in our neighborhood.
Our campus is located in North Peoria, but we have neighbors who come from all over the world, including many who grew up in the Midwest. All these people matter to God, they matter to us, too. As we learn to love and connect with the neighbors who live around our church building, we're also learning how to love and connect with neighbors who live on our own streets. It's all about friendships and showing the love of Christ. Our Neighborhoods Team is leading the way and helping the rest of us step out of our comfort zones to serve our neighbors.
We're on a mission around the globe.
Everyone in the world has basic needs. Whether it's due to hurricanes, wars or generational poverty. Unfortunately, many of those needs are going unmet. We believe God wants us to show compassion as we partner with many others to ensure that people's most basic needs are being met. With so much suffering in the world, it's no surprise that a lot of us don't even know where to begin. That's where our Basic Needs Team leads us to respond with compassion and resources to meet real needs around the world.
We're on a mission in Mexico.
Our Mexico Team works alongside an organization called YPM to build friendships (and buildings) that minister the love of Christ with neighbors who live in the Yucatan Peninsula. We're learning so much from our YPM mission partners. The people of the Yucatan peninsula are teaching us about things like faith, hospitality, humility, hard work and friendship. You're welcome to join us on one of our week-long treks every January. Warning: it might change your whole perspective on life!
We're on a mission in our own hearts.
God has an amazing adventure for every single follower of Jesus. It involves taking what we know and what we've experienced and sharing it with others in the world, especially with those who haven't yet chosen to follow Jesus for themselves. Just about all of us, however, feel more than a little intimidated by things like what to say, how to act and how people might respond. Our Mission Equipping Team helps us by growing our knowledge and skills so that our mission efforts align with the heart and wisdom of God.
